Owned and operated by Louie and Suzanne Maragos, WoodShippingCrates.com has remained family-run for nearly two decades. As the business started growing, our first hires were neighbors and friends. This created an ego-free, cooperative, teamwork atmosphere of mutual respect, focused on building custom wood crates better and faster. That atmosphere still prevails, even with a much larger staff, today. Our first staff roster consisted of Louie Maragos as shop foreman who also did all of the designing and sales, four framing carpenters from the homebuilding industry, and Suzanne behind the scenes doing the office work and even deliveries. Louie taught these young carpenters the crating business, and they taught him construction. And together, they taught each additional hire the value and importance of our family-style work ethic. 

In 2025, we became a certified Woman-Owned Small Business, a designation that allows us to better serve our growing military and government clientele. One of our proudest early milestones was winning a Navy design competition — and we’ve been trusted by military contractors and government buyers ever since.

From our South Florida headquarters, we’ve built custom wood crates for shipments heading to every corner of the U.S. — from Key West to Alaska, California to Virginia — and for some of the most demanding clients in the world:
